Battle High School was a challenging project due to the sheer size of the building. It was a 205,000 square foot facility that included a complete kitchen, two gymnasiums, a performing arts center, multiple classroom pods, and a trade services center with music rooms, art studios, and construction trades, such as welding and carpentry.
The HVAC system was a geothermal heat pump system that included 264 – 400 ft. deep wells. The geothermal wells served 135 heat pumps. In addition to those heat pumps, the building included 13 RTUs, 19 ERUs, and 46 split systems. The overall project took 30 months to complete, it was finished in the summer of 2013.
Though we experienced many challenges throughout construction, we completed the project on time, and the owner has been very satisfied with the performance of the system.
